the hardware
There are now several machines in the computing arsenal. More is always better right? Right? The primary machine is what I use for coding this site and my gaming. It's configured as follows:
- Operating System: Windows 2000 SP4
- Case: In-Win Q500
- Power Supply: Enermax 550W
- Motherboard: Asus P4P800-E Deluxe
- Processor: Pentium 4 3.2ghz
- Memory: A gig of Mushkin PC3200 Hi Performance Level 2 Version 2
- Video Card: Sapphire Radeon X800XT w/ 256 megs of RAM
- Sound Card: Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum
- Network: Onboard gigabit LAN
- Hard Drive(s): Two IBM/Hitachi Deskstar 120 gig 7200 RPM Ultra ATA133 and one IBM/Hitachi Deskstar 60 gig 7200 RPM Ultra ATA133
- CD Drive(s): Sony 16x DVD, 48x CD and a Plextor 52x24x52 CD-RW
The secondary machine is for LAN gaming and any lengthy compiling. It's configured like so:
- Operating System: Windows 2000 SP4
- Case: In-Win A500
- Power Supply: Generic 320W
- Motherboard: Chaintech Summit Series 7VJL1
- Processor: AthlonXP 1400+
- Memory: 640 megs of Mushkin PC2100 Hi Performance Level 2 DDR
- Video Card: ABit Radeon 9600XT w/ 256 megs of RAM
- Sound Card: Creative SoundBlaster Live! XGamer
- Network Card: NetGear FA311 10/100
- Hard Drive(s): Two 40 gig Maxtor 7200 ATA133 drives
- CD Drive: Sony 52x
The most recent addition to the hardware arsenal is the laptop, for level-work and markup on the go. Here's the rundown:
- Operating System: Windows 2000 SP4
- Chassis: Asus M6Ne - 5.6lbs, 1.1" thick, 15.5" SXGA LCD 1400x1050 resolution
- Processor:Pentium M 755 - 2ghz, 400mhz FSB
- Memory: 1 gig of Mushkin PC2700
- Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
- Hard Drive: 60gig 7200rpm IBM/Hitachi Travelstar
- CD Drive: Asus DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo
Cast your loving gaze upon the Legacy system. Honestly, I have no idea what's in it at the moment since it's a jumble of spare parts thrown together for Windows 98 support and older gaming.
