- Uplink - http://www.introversion.co.uk
Uplink is probably one of the most addictive games I've ever had the chance to play. Released back in 2001, Uplink is rather simple in execution, but it will draw you in just the same as some of the most complex games out there. You play as a hacker-for-hire working for the Uplink Corporation. Log in to their server and contact companies for jobs ranging from sabotaging data to changing criminal records. Earn enough money to upgrade your Gateway (the machine you perform your hacking from) and software in order to perform more complex jobs, all the while unraveling the mystery of one of the most deadly computer viruses ever created.
- Soldat - http://www.soldat.prv.pl/
If you haven't played Soldat yet, you're missing something truly grand. Soldat is a side-scrolling fragfest where the only goal is to destroy your opponents. Customize your character's colors, choose from over a dozen primary weapons and jump into the fray for some awesome deathmatch. Can be played alone or with friends, with or without bots. It's shareware, but more than worth the small registration fee.
Books / Authors
- LibraryThing - http://www.librarything.com
LibraryThing is a great place for you to keep an online catalog of the books you own. Your library is easily organized using key words, or tags, and you can rate and review them as well. Your library can be made public or private, and you can search the libraries of other users based on tags you use and books you own.
- Lost Books - http://www.lostbooks.org
Originally a part of Orson Scott Card's Hatrack River, Lost Books has evolved into a site of its own. The whole idea behind it is to showcase books that many readers may not know about. I've found plenty of excellent titles thanks to this site, and I wholly recommend that you check it out.
- The Official Brian Lumley Web Site - http://www.brianlumley.com
Brian Lumley is the author of the Necroscope series, one of the best series of books in the vampire mythos, in my opinion. He's also written plenty of other books, including some based on H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.

- Hatrack River - The Official Web Site of Orson Scott Card - http://www.hatrack.com
Orson Scott Card is probably best known for the Ender saga. His skill at bringing characters to life is excellent, as every character he creates has depth and personality. Check out Ender's Game, the first book in the Ender saga, and Memory Of Earth, the first book in the amazing Homecoming saga. The first chapter or two of each of his books is available on the site, so head on over and check 'em out if you're a fan of science fiction, deep characters, or well-developed plotlines.
- The Tolkien Society - http://www.tolkiensociety.org.uk
The Tolkien Society is based in England, and strives to nurture the ever-growing interest in one of the greatest writers ever. While he is best known for Lord Of The Rings, there was more to Tolkien than Elves and Hobbits, and The Tolkien Society has it all.
- Moorcock's Weekly Miscellany - http://www.multiverse.org
Michael Moorcock is my favorite fantasy author, second only to J.R.R. Tolkien. His concept of the Multiverse and his characterization combine to bring about one of the most powerful fantasy sagas I've ever read. His works are a must read, for anyone.

Miscellaneous Links
- Official Blind Guardian Web Site - http://www.blind-guardian.com
Blind Guardian is one of my absolute favorite bands. They manage to combine melody and power metal in a way that I haven't heard any other band pull off. A lot of their work is fantasy-based, like the amazing Nightfall In Middle-Earth. Every album is a gem.
- Official Clutch Site - http://www.pro-rock.com/
Clutch has a musical style rather different from a band like Blind Guardian, and they may be a bit of an acquired taste. Their style is a Led Zeppelin-influenced sort of blues-styled riff, and it's fantastic. The easiest album to get into is probably Blast Tyrant, and you should waste no time in getting it.
- Zombie Infection Simulation - http://kevan.org/proce55ing/zombies/
For some reason this is entertaining. It simulates a crowd of people in an enclosed area gradually being turned into zombies.
- Twighlight Creations' Zombies!!! - http://twilightcreationsinc.safeshopper.com/3/cat3.htm?27
Looking for a good board game? How about a dead one? Since the players actually create the Zombies!!! game board as the game goes on, each game is different. The object is to escape the undead-infested city first, using any means at your disposal.
- Angel Sword Forge - http://www.angelsword.com
I had the excellent opportunity to meet the smiths of Angel Sword Forge up at the New York Renaissance Faire. The swords they make are nothing short of exceptional. They can even forge the metal in such a way as to create designs on the blade, without having to engrave them. They do some really amazing work and if you have any interest in swords at all, you should check them out.
- Chimera Publishing - http://www.chimerapublishing.com
Some of the coolest fantasy-based prints can be found here. I met the guy that runs it at a convention in 2002, and bought a bunch of Elric inspired prints from him. Great guy, and he's got some really cool stuff if your walls are looking a little bare. Hit the site and search for an artist named Robert Gould; I have at least half the stuff listed there and it's fantastic.
