The Pouch

Hello, my name is Matt, and I am a geek. There, I said it. If it wasn't obvious before, it sure is now. While in search of something new to pass the time, I settled upong weaving chainmail. It's nice to work with your hands once in a while. I've played with several different patterns while contemplating several projects.

The first completed project is a dice pouch. Yes, I've played D&D, and I still have my dice. Chainmail dice pouches seem to be all the rage, so I figured I'd try my hand at making one for myself. Most pouches I could find seem to use a standard European 4-in-1 weave, or something similar. For my own pouch, I settled on a combination of Japanese styles: hitoye-gusari and hana-gusari. I used 944 rings (14ga, 1/4" ID) made of black anodized aluminum. It holds forty-two dice comfortably.
